Dubraj Rice

Dubraj rice, from Chhattisgarh, boasts slender grains, delicate aroma, and versatility in dishes like pulavs and biryanis. Sourced from Dantewada’s tribal belt, it’s cultivated sustainably by Madia Gond farmers. Prakriti Saurabh promotes indigenous foods like Dubraj, highlighting its health benefits such as blood pressure regulation and heart health. It’s not just a culinary delight; it’s a nutritious choice with a rich heritage.

Gir Cow

The Gir cow, native to India’s Gir hills, is prized for its resilience, disease resistance, and high milk yield. Its distinct features include a bony shield-like forehead, long pendulous ears, and a prominent hump housing the unique “Surya Ketu Nadi” vein, believed to imbue their milk with medicinal properties. Compared to hybrid cows, Gir cows produce A2 milk, which is considered healthier. They have a longer lifespan, lower disease susceptibility, and though their daily milk yield is less, it is highly nutritious. Gir cows require more maintenance but are valued for their contribution to dairy farming and the superior quality of their milk.

Vermicompost

Vermicompost, created through the decomposition process involving various worm species like red wigglers and earthworms, comprises a blend of decomposing organic waste, bedding materials, and vermicast. This process, termed vermicomposting, includes vermiculture—the deliberate rearing of worms.

Vermicast, also known as worm castings or worm humus, is the final product of organic matter breakdown by earthworms, containing fewer contaminants and higher nutrient levels than the original materials. Rich in water-soluble nutrients, vermicompost serves as an excellent organic fertilizer and soil conditioner, beneficial for gardening and sustainable farming.
